WHO WE ARE

Sophie Jean Dance Company is a Contemporary & Jazz dance studio in Hawkes Bay.This is our 3rd year open and next year we will be introducing Tap, Improvisation and Choreography and more Jazz levels in 2019.

Our passion is to create a fun and safe environment for students to feel comfortable to explore and find their own love for dance and gain new and strong technique. What we have been up to

Canada 2018

In July 2018 a group of 8 Senior dancers from SJDC travelled to Canada to attend a summer dance camp. The students were immersed in a busy week of all genres of dance including Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, Acro, Partnering & Lifts and Choreography. This experience was so much fun and they have made lifelong friends at the Mac Island Dance Studio.

Hope Walk 2018

We were lucky enough to be asked to perform at the first Hawkes Bay's Hope Walk. This organisation is so important as it is creating a beautiful and safe community to talk about suicide awareness and help anyone that is battling with depression.
